WriteHuman AI Review: Pricing, Limits, and a Free Alternative

An honest look at WriteHuman: what each plan allows per request, what that means in real words, and who it suits. Humanit's humanizer and free detector are above for a side-by-side test.

WriteHuman is an AI humanizer that works with text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek in 40-plus languages. It prices by requests: the free plan allows 3 requests a month of up to 250 words, and paid plans run from $20 a month (80 requests of up to 600 words) to $59 (unlimited requests of up to 3,000 words).

How it works

  1. 1
Paste your text. Drop in AI output from ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.
  2. 2
Pick a tone. Choose from 10 modes — Casual to Ultra.
  3. 3
Humanize. Get natural, human-sounding writing in seconds.
  4. 4
Verify. Check the result with the built-in AI detector.

What WriteHuman is

WriteHuman is a dedicated humanizer: paste text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek or any other AI tool and it rewrites the cadence, word choice and sentence structure toward the variation human writers bring. It supports more than 40 languages, offers AI image and video detectors, and sells a REST API with word-based pricing for agencies and enterprise use.

Pricing, translated into words

WriteHuman counts requests, not words, and each request has a word ceiling. Free: 3 requests a month, up to 250 words each. Basic: $20 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, for 80 requests of up to 600 words. Pro: $29, or $19 yearly, for 200 requests of up to 1,200 words. Ultra: $59, or $39 yearly, for unlimited requests of up to 3,000 words. The maximums look large — 80 × 600 is 48,000 words — but you only reach them if every request is full. Rewriting a 300-word paragraph still spends a whole request, so what you actually get depends on how long your pieces are.

The Sept 16 model update, and what it tells you

WriteHuman's homepage announces an enhanced model updated for GPTZero and Pangram as of September 16. That is candid, and it tells you how this category works: humanizers tune against specific detectors, detectors retrain, and the results shift. Whatever a humanizer scored last month is not a promise about next month, and no tool can be tested against Turnitin by the public. Treat every before-and-after screenshot as a snapshot.

Who WriteHuman suits

WriteHuman suits writers working across many languages, and teams that want API access for volume. For individuals, the plan to pick depends on the length of what you rewrite: frequent short pieces fit request-based pricing; long single documents run into the per-request ceiling first.

Where Humanit is different

Humanit charges by words, so a short paragraph costs a short paragraph. A free account gets 1,000 words in its first month, then 300 a month, in Casual mode; Starter is $9.99 a month for 10,000 words at up to 1,200 per run, Pro $19.99 for 30,000 at up to 2,500 per run, and one-time top-ups start at $1.99 per 1,000 words and never expire. The detector is free with no account for up to 300 words per check and shows the sub-signals behind the score. Humanit's detector is English-tuned, while WriteHuman supports 40-plus languages — if you rewrite in other languages, that difference matters.

How to compare them fairly

The only test that matters is your own text. Take two or three paragraphs you actually need to submit, run them through each tool, then check every result with at least two detectors that did not do the rewriting — a humanizer's own checker has an obvious reason to be generous. Finally, read each version for meaning: a rewrite that passes a detector but changes what you argued is worse than the original.

Frequently asked questions

Is WriteHuman free?

There is a free plan with 3 requests a month of up to 250 words each. Paid plans start at $20 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly.

How much does WriteHuman cost?

Basic is $20 a month ($12 billed yearly) for 80 requests of up to 600 words, Pro is $29 ($19 yearly) for 200 requests of up to 1,200 words, and Ultra is $59 ($39 yearly) for unlimited requests of up to 3,000 words.

Does WriteHuman have an AI detector?

WriteHuman offers detection tools alongside its humanizer, including AI image and video detectors. Whatever tool rewrites your text, check the result with a detector that did not do the rewriting as well.

Does WriteHuman bypass GPTZero?

WriteHuman says it updated its model for GPTZero and Pangram in September 2026. Detectors retrain too, so no result is permanent; test your own text at the time you need it.

What is a good free WriteHuman alternative?

Humanit gives a free account 1,000 words in its first month, then 300 a month in Casual mode, charges by words rather than requests on paid plans, and has a detector that needs no account for checks up to 300 words.

Will my text be used to train AI?

No. Your text is sent to the model only to produce your result and is never used to train any AI. No content is stored beyond the request.

Does it keep my original meaning?

Yes. Humanit preserves your facts, numbers, names, and citations while changing the phrasing and structure. It never invents new claims.
