StealthWriter AI Review: Free Plan, Pricing, and an Alternative
An honest look at StealthWriter: what the free plan really gives you, what the paid tiers add, and how to judge any humanizer that grades its own output. Humanit's humanizer and free detector are above for comparison.
StealthWriter is an AI humanizer with a built-in detector. Its free plan allows 10 humanizations a day at up to 1,000 words each with no credit card, and Starter costs $20 a month or $200 a year for 50 humanizations a day at up to 5,000 words each.
How it works
- 1Paste your text. Drop in AI output from ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.
- 2Pick a tone. Choose from 10 modes — Casual to Ultra.
- 3Humanize. Get natural, human-sounding writing in seconds.
- 4Verify. Check the result with the built-in AI detector.
What StealthWriter is
StealthWriter takes text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and similar tools and rewrites it to read as naturally human-written, with a built-in detector to score the result. You sign up, and the free plan starts immediately with no credit card.
The free plan is genuinely generous
Credit where due: StealthWriter's free plan allows 10 humanizations a day, up to 1,000 words each, and includes its V2 detector and Deep Scan. That is more free rewriting than Humanit offers — our free account gets 1,000 words in its first month and 300 a month after that — and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Paid plans raise the daily volume: Starter is $20 a month or $200 a year for 50 humanizations a day at up to 5,000 words each, with a larger Plus tier above it.
A humanizer grading its own homework
Every humanizer that bundles a detector, StealthWriter and Humanit included, has an obvious conflict: the same company wrote the text and scores it. A built-in detector is still useful for spotting which passages read as AI, but the verdict that matters comes from a detector that had nothing to do with the rewrite — and ideally the one your reader will actually use. Turnitin cannot be run by the public, so no humanizer can show you a genuine Turnitin result for your text.
Who StealthWriter suits
StealthWriter suits users who want to try a lot of rewriting for free, and daily heavy users who want long inputs — 5,000 words on Starter — at a flat monthly price. If you rewrite occasionally, a daily-limit model means paying for capacity you will not use.
Where Humanit is different
Humanit charges by words per month rather than runs per day: Starter is $9.99 a month for 10,000 words at up to 1,200 per run, Pro $19.99 for 30,000 words at up to 2,500 per run, and one-time top-ups start at $1.99 per 1,000 words and never expire, which suits bursty use. The detector is free with no account for up to 300 words per check and breaks the score into sub-signals with the exact phrases that read as AI. The same account also covers a paraphraser, summarizer and grammar checker.
How to compare them fairly
The only test that matters is your own text. Take two or three paragraphs you actually need to submit, run them through each tool, then check every result with at least two detectors that did not do the rewriting — a humanizer's own checker has an obvious reason to be generous. Finally, read each version for meaning: a rewrite that passes a detector but changes what you argued is worse than the original.

Frequently asked questions
Is StealthWriter free?
Yes. The free plan allows 10 humanizations a day at up to 1,000 words each, includes the V2 detector and Deep Scan, and needs no credit card.
How much does StealthWriter cost?
Starter is $20 a month or $200 a year for 50 humanizations a day at up to 5,000 words each, with a larger Plus plan above it.
Does StealthWriter bypass Turnitin?
No humanizer can show a real Turnitin result, because Turnitin is not publicly available. Check output with an independent detector and follow your institution's rules on AI use.
Is StealthWriter's built-in detector reliable?
It is useful for spotting passages that read as AI, but a humanizer scoring its own output has a conflict of interest. Confirm with a detector that did not do the rewriting.
What is a good StealthWriter alternative?
Humanit charges by words instead of daily runs, with a free detector that needs no account for up to 300 words per check. StealthWriter gives more free rewriting; Humanit suits occasional or bursty use better.
Will my text be used to train AI?
No. Your text is sent to the model only to produce your result and is never used to train any AI. No content is stored beyond the request.
Does it keep my original meaning?
Yes. Humanit preserves your facts, numbers, names, and citations while changing the phrasing and structure. It never invents new claims.
